Q: I have lines on my copies, is this something I can fix?
A: 1. Yes, most of the time if you are feeding paper through the top feeder you might see a pencil line line through your copies. Check the small side glass for any dirt, dust, or other markings and clean the glass well. You may use windex, a damp cloth or even alcohol wipes work very well. If it still persists you may need to contact a technician as there may be a problem with the drum or fuser.
Q: The copier is jamming only on one size of paper. Can I fix this?
A:Yes it can be simple sometimes. Here are some things to check: Make sure the dial on the cassette is set to its appropriate paper size. 2. Also check to make sure the paper guides are tight against the paper without any movement. 3. Lastly make sure you check your paper for sticking as there have many times where the glue that seals the outside of the paper package seeps through and catches onto the edges.
Q:I am getting one of the error codes E000,E001,E002,E003, or E004. Can I do anything?
A:Yes you can sometimes clear this code out. The copier may flash this error code to protect itself due to electrical storms, power surges or power losses. Here are a list of steps to clear out this code:

Notes before procedure: You must perform this action when the screen displays the error code. If the screen is black or frozen then please reboot the copier by flipping the black power switch on the right side of the machine on and off. You also might have to perform this action quickly before the screen goes black.

1. On the keypad, press the additional functions key, it will have a (*) symbol on it.
2. On the keypad, press the number keys 2 and 8 simultaneously.
3. On the keypad, press the additional functions key again.
4. The copier LCD screen should now show a service mode screen. Press copier.
5. At the top of the screen, press function.
6. In the middle of the screen, press clear.
7. On the left side of the screen, highlight “ERR” with your finger.
8. At the bottom right of the screen, press OK.
9. Now you may switch the copier off and on with the black power switch on the right side.
10. This should put you in a ready state. If it does not, reboot the copier and try the steps again. If it does not work after a few times please call for service.

Q: Why will the copy machine not turn on at all?
A: Check to make sure the power is plugged in. If you still don't have power, most copy machines have a breaker switch on the back. Check to make sure the breaker has not been flipped. Also it may be confusing that there is a grey power button on the control panel and a black switch on the back right hand side of the copier. The grey button is for sleep mode whereas the black switch is the main power switch.

Q: I cannot send or receive faxes. Why?
A:First, check to make sure you have a phone cord plugged in to both the fax machine and the wall. Next, check to make sure you have a dialtone, you may use a phone or headset and plug directly into the same fax port on the wall to check for a dialtone. About 99% of our calls on fax machine send/receive problems are due to the phone lines. We do not service phone lines and you will need to contact your phone service provider for support.
Q: Is my data secure when I use a Canon copier?
A: For the most part, yes. Scanning, copying and printing are only temporarily stored to the hard drive and then deleted after they have been processed through each time. The only factor where data is stored on the hard drive is in the mailbox feature which you can password protect to keep people out. Some customers have us remove and give them the hard drive to be able to destroy the hard drives themselves. You may be charged the cost of a replacement drive if the copier is a trade-in. Please review the document below for more information straight from Canon:

Furthermore, there are options Canon provides to give you better peace of mind in keeping your data secure. As of 2011, Canon is the only copier that provides Hard Disk data erase and encryption features.
